Curt's Self Portrait

I have been taking pictures since getting my first camera at age 12, a Yashika 35mm manual camera with a 50mm lens. The digital camera revolution has released me from my darkroom, and now I spend entirely too much time playing around in Photoshop. Still, my commitment to capturing the beauty of the Northwest and the world in landscape photography hasn't changed.

As my friends began to get married and have kids, and with the birth of my own daughter, my interest branched out to include event and portrait photography. I have come to love capturing the joy of a special event like a wedding, or the playfulness of a child.

I teach arts and technology, including digital photography, at Madison Middle School in West Seattle. When I'm not working, I play and hike and goof around with my 2 year old daughter, Lucy, and my wife, Laura.
